It's In the Cards

Some addictions should be avoided, but we have a cards habit at Jojoba that is absolutely necessary. We laugh. We play. We laugh. We talk. We laugh….

Members meet in the hall most evenings. We play Rummikub with “Jojoba Rules” on Monday. The new rules make plain old Rummikub terribly boring and we can’t imagine why the toy-maker didn’t think of them.

Tuesday and Friday is Five Crowns, and the winner gets their royal portrait (as shown) put on our Facebook page. There is always an all-out battle for the limelight. On the same night, for “dessert”, we play a couple of hands of Swoop. 

We have started to play Hearts on Wednesdays and, since we were all pretty new to it, the mistakes can bring us to hysterical tears.

Mostly, we just like being together and meeting friends who are either visiting or new members.
