Becoming a Member
Jojoba Hills provides a home base for active adult (55+) RVers and is not to be considered a year-round residence. As such, those seeking membership are required to have a licensed and functioning RV that is less than twenty (20) years old. Members must also be capable and willing to contribute their talents and labor in maintaining our resort cooperative.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A MEMBER:
You are over 55 years old, and if a couple the partner must be over 45 years old.
You own an RV that is self-contained and less than 20 years old.
You have the financial ability to pay our one time refundable membership deposit of (2026 $44,000), and to pay your monthly membership fee (2026 $486) per month plus your electricity & propane).
The first step is to schedule a guided tour of the resort. Tours allow you to:
• Experience the community firsthand
• Meet current members
• Learn about volunteer opportunities, activities, and lifestyle

Members pay a modest monthly fee ( 2026 $483) that covers operating expenses and supports reserve funds for the resort. The monthly membership fee includes:
• Water
• Sewer
• Trash service
• Cable TV
• High-speed internet
• In-park phone service
Members are responsible to pay for their own electricity and propane usage.
As Erma Bombeck beautifully said:
“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.”
Jojoba Hills is a member-run cooperative community, and volunteering is a core part of our community. Our bylaws state that members are expected to share their experience, knowledge, time, or skills for the benefit of the resort.
Many volunteer roles require a couple hours each a week. When special needs arise, notices are shared internally, and participation is always enthusiastic and appreciated.
We are active participants working toward a common goal: being good stewards of our home and community to maintain and enhance it. By doing so, we gain a sense of purpose, make solid friendships, and enrich our own lives through the process. Working together we get to really know each other and appreciate the unique talent and skills we each bring.
In many ways, we become a family.
Because Jojoba Hills depends on member participation for many programs and projects to save costs of paid staff, volunteering is essential to keeping the resort thriving and affordable.
Members typically choose activities they enjoy, making volunteering a rewarding way to connect with neighbors and take pride in the community.
We all experience times in our lives where we are unable to volunteer, this is to be expected.
We are all active participants working toward a common goal: being good stewards of our home and community to maintain and enhance it.
If you are unwilling to volunteer, then Jojoba Hills is not the right community for you to choose.
