The pottery studio at Jojoba Hills is half of the Art Center and shares a wonderful outdoor patio with the Art Studio. You often find people gathered at the patio, doing pottery, art or just relaxing taking in the sunny southern California weather.

Your introduction to the Pottery Studio starts with two orientation classes that are designed to introduce you to the tools and resources available in the  studio (The slab roller, extruders, transfers, textured rollers & matts, GR pottery forms, molds, carving tools, etc.) and to guide you through your first hand built pottery project - starting with raw clay, ending with a glazed finished piece.

Once you purchase your clay at the Pottery Studio, all other items; tools, glazes and firings (we have two kilns) are included in the price of the clay - there is no additional cost.  We have over 300 brushing glazes and underglazes for use and we are continually adding new glazes and clay bodies to the mix.

For those who want to try their hand at wheel thrown pottery, we have two pottery wheels available and a number of potters in our community to guide and help you gain the basic skills needed for wheel throwing.  We even have a few potters doing slip casting!

Our pottery studio members are a friendly and social group that are always willing to help when needed, much like the greater Jojoba Hills Community.
